How in the heavens did it get to be JUNE already!?!

Our week ahead will be quite a bit easier than last week with just as much information delivered, feelings felt and emotions moving. However we are working with Venus instead of Mars so it will be, hopefully, quite a bit easier that last week was. You’ll learn the difference between Mars and Venus by noting the same swell of emotions and how different your reaction to them will be.

We’ll be working with our dream as Venus mimics the aspects Mars made last week to Uranus, Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter. Our week culminates with Venus entering Taurus, finishing her 4 month long journey in Aries (hurray)! Venus sets off in the sign she loves to start the next 8 year cycle in our chart around love, desire, self esteem, money, partners, skills and talents. The Taurus and Libra houses in our chart sigh with a bit of relief as the Venus pressure eases. We move forward. Taurus, in a sign Venus loves, finally catches the energy and information about our desires. We‘ve been hammering our desires, loves, skills and talents out and getting clearer and clearer on what we want since February 2, 2009. We worked hard all through that 40 day retrograde of hers in early Aries. Now we get to do something about all the things we’ve learned.

Your dream may be battered and beaten.

Last week your dream got pushed around quite a bit last week by Mars.

Hopefully, you made it through in one piece and are ready to go.

Hopefully, you looked for and found the string hanging out of the hole near your butt, right were it was supposed to be. Did you find your string ~ something to hang onto when the week got rough?

Just so you know, I fibbed a bit last week, when I used the caterpillar/ butterfly analogy. I did it to help you get through, focused on the metamorphosis taking place with in your being. I did it so you would agree to the changes that were taking place. I did it to encourage you to be brave, true and bold of heart. I hoped you would take that leap and go willingly from caterpillar to butterfly. I did it so you would be clear you might be leaving the folks behind who don‘t want to change into a butterfly. Leave behind the caterpillars who are content to chew on the grass and whine rather than evolve.

It is pretty scary to leave what you know behind and move toward an unknown, unclear future. We watch caterpillars do it all the time. We see butterflies every year so we know some caterpillars made the change successfully. But caterpillars aren’t the worry warts that we humans are! Caterpillars just take that string, climb up the underside of a shaded leaf, start to spin their cocoon and tuck themselves into it without a care in the world. We see the changes taking place around us and go “Whoa! No cocoon for me! No butterfly metamorphosis for me! Ain‘t happening here! No WAY!”

But, of course, we don’t have THAT level of control. Change happens. Change happens with or without our consent. Life goes on. The world spins around. The caterpillars cocoon. The flowers bloom. The tides change. The sun sets. The moon rises. We are sitting here, on earth, watching all that activity go on with out us doing a single darn thing! We ARE part of it. We like to THINK we have control. Not so much control when you get right down to it.

So, if you are not a caterpillar, what are you? And WHAT is that string popping out of the hole near your butt?

The string popping out of your butt is actually more like a spider’s silk than a caterpillar‘s thread. It isn’t there to spin you a cocoon. The string is there for you to build yourself a new web. The string is there to get you to the next place you are going. Same concept ~ a string to help you create something. However, there is a different reason for the string. You, frankly, don’t have ANY MORE TIME to spend in a cocoon dissolving and restructuring yourself into a butterfly. THINGS ARE MOVING FORWARD! It is time to get cracking! Time for you to get cracking on your dream. Time to change and move out of your old life into your new life.

So give that string by your butt a little tug to see how it moves and the tension involved to get it released. Web weaving will be starting soon in the Taurus and Libra sections of your chart. Advanced web weaving techniques are being taught in the Virgo, Capricorn and Aquarius sections of your chart. This week we are going to focus on CLARIFYING the dream you got clearer on LAST week. Over the next two weeks, as Mercury leaves his shadow, you are going to get clearer, and clearer and clearer about your dream.

Remember, there is still a mucky pile of stuff you are not clear on. Focus on doing the stuff you ARE clear about. Leave the mucky stuff in the corner for the time being. The clear stuff is the initial part of your path. NO MORE WORRIES about the mucky stuff you are not clear on. You can do nothing about that right now. Let it be.

Monday we hear NO. Or no! or nOooo! or NO! Venus argues with Saturn. Life is not easy today. Moon fights with Pluto. No is a terrific word. We don’t say it enough. Or with enough Gusto. Shout NO today. NO! NO! NO! A great temper tantrum kind of day. A great day for getting crystal clear on what you are trying to experience in this lifetime. NO! How clear. Refreshing actually. NO. No! Just because THAT person said NO to you doesn’t mean the rest of the world is going to say no to you. That person did. Good. You are clear. They are clear. Now you can go forward.

Tuesday rocks and rolls. Venus picking up speed talks to all the planets that Mars argued with last week. She is in Aries so she can be a bit harsh as she works with your wound, changes up the mix, sees the dream for what it REALLY is, not for what she’s been holding out hope and THOUGHT the dream was all about. Mars asks her (and us) to make a choice. Here is caterpillar jump off time! Here is string out of your butt time! Here is time to spin the cocoon to nurture your new dream. Here is the time to anchor your web for your new dream to a nice stable tree. Or at least to make the commitment to anchor the web, spin the cocoon, leave being a caterpillar behind. Accept that you are supposed to evolve out of caterpillar brain and into a see the bigger picture brain that the butterfly has. Moon in Libra is ruled by Venus in Aries. Can you see HOW you partnered with the earlier version of your dream? Can you see what a big wish it was for you? How deep it was? How profound a wish it was? How scary a wish it was? That wish is tied to a very sensitive and extremely fragile yet important part of your chart. That is where the dream of this incarnation rests. That is your dream point too. Rest in it. Hold it. Nurture it like the fragile dream it is. Let your dream speak to you.

Wednesday Moon in Libra, ruled by Venus in Aries, wants to PARTNER WITH SOMEONE OR IT WILL KILL THEM! Highly passionate energy today. Pallas enters Leo to say the pattern is YOURS! Do you see how the pattern is YOURS? The pattern is NOT about them, it is about YOU! And that statement is not a judgment or to say you are doing anything wrong. It is just to help you recognize it so you can work with it more productively. We, each and every one of us, pull people, situations and stories into our lives to give us the experiences our chart says we want to learn about in this current incarnation. We go to those people, situations and stories with our pasts firmly held in our heart. And then our past repeats itself, yet again, with the new person. Today, or some time this month (when Mercury clears his shadow!), I want you to put down your past. Stand in your own truth. Understand how the people in your life reflect back to you what you think you need and deserve. Do you still want that? If not, the time has come to change it. That is the area you are clear about. Change that area.

Thursday finds Passions high as Moon in Scorpio attempts to process all that has been going on. Mars is trine to Pluto today so power dreams and dynamics fill your night’s tosses and turns. Upon awakening, you’ll be clearer about your patterns and how they hinder or delay you. You might not be happy but you will be clear. Today can be a cranky, crabby day or you can use the energy to power through stuff and get things finished and out the door. The Moon‘s going to be VERY emotional as it works with the energy of change. Remember, some folks don’t want to become butterflies. They want to STAY as CATERPILLARS. That IS their choice. You can’t do anything about it but hold them in the light and wish them well. YOU can do something to change the caterpillar part of YOU (in a few weeks). In the meantime, get clear on it and how it is part and parcel of who you are.

Friday is a crabby cranky or highly emotional day as the Moon in Scorpio squares all those dreams of yours and sees them as a bit threadbare, worn and wanting. Dreams that didn‘t quite make it. Dreams that didn‘t survive into fullness. Dreams that aren‘t going to come true. Dreams that did come true but weren’t what you wanted once you got them. Sun squares Saturn today pointing out the choices inherent in any life and the dreams that don‘t happen are almost MORE important than the dreams that DO happen. We are distinctly and perhaps unpleasantly aware of the BAD choices we’ve made in our life today. And to this I say “So what?” Say “So what?” too! Stand in the process and pride of accomplishment of your life. At least you tried. At least you HAD a dream. At least you went for it. And if at first it doesn’t happen and that dream of yours doesn’t come true, well, there is always later today, next week, tomorrow, next year, another day. Life is about the PROCESS not the arrival. Saturn in Virgo teaches us about the process. Your chart is here to be lived. Or perhaps a LARGE DOG just ran through the web you were contently spinning and left it in tatters. So go, get started spinning a new web for your next dream.

Saturn’s day Venus enters Taurus to leave our long, long, long, long Venus in Aries journey behind. Moon in Sagittarius adds a lightness and happiness to the day. Notice patterns you no longer need (or things you don’t need) and get rid of them. They shed or leave particularly easily today! Sun works with the North Node bringing difficult connections or people who point out the choices you have. You always, always have choices. Choice and the duality it offers is part of the human experience. Venus pushes on Saturn to say, I am ready to change it up!

We’ve figured out anchoring techniques. We get how we create things. We understand where we learned our early approaches from. Venus’s aspect to the nodes of destiny points out the CHOICE we have to make about our loves and passions. We always have a choice. Often we don’t think we do. Today, take the time to recognize the choice you have. No saying your mother wouldn’t approve or what would other people say about your choice. It is YOUR life. It is NOT their life. YOU HAVE A DREAM! What IS your dream? Can you spin a bit of your web thread towards your dream?

Mundane: Judge Sonia Sotomayor (June 25, 1954) was nominated for Supreme Court by Barack Obama to fill retiring Judge Souter‘s seat. While I normally expect things announced on Mercury’s retrograde to be reversed, Sonia natal Mercury is retrograde so this nomination will probably stick. She has a strong Mars in Capricorn, retrograde. Sonia was born 5 days before a new moon eclipse. Her Cancer Sun and Jupiter are on the South Node. The upcoming eclipse in July 2009 is on her natal retrograde Mercury and echoes her prenatal eclipse ~ this is a pivotal moment in her life.

Her dad died at an early age (Saturn retrograde in Scorpio at age 2:44). She grew up in the projects with a single mom (Moon in Aries trine Pluto in Leo). She graduated top in her class at Princeton and Yale (Sun /Jupiter in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio). She was a litigator and Appellate judge (Mars in Capricorn fights and referrees). Out of 3000 plus rulings by Sotomayor, only 400 were submitted to the Supreme Court. Out of that 400, the court rejected all but 5. Out of that 5, they overturned only 3. On average, the court overturns 75% of all cases it considers. The Courts overturned .0075% of Sotomayor's cases that were submitted. Her track record is far above average.

She’s receiving criticism for her comment about her pride in her ethnic background. She said that personal experiences "affect the facts that judges choose to see." And, "I simply do not know exactly what the difference will be in my judging," she said in a speech in 2001. "But I accept there will be some based on my gender and my Latina heritage."

I love, love, love all the angry white male faces calling her a racist. As the song from Avenue Q goes:

Susan Boyle (April 1, 1961, 9:50 am, Blackburn Scotland 53N45, 002 W29) came in second in Britain’s Got Talent as Mercury, her ascendant ruler stopped and stationed to turn direct and Neptune/ Chiron stationed to go retrograde on her midheaven on Saturn‘s day, May 30, 2009 when she performed in the final show. Now a You-tube sensation with the fifth highest views ever, Susan lived a quiet life in a poor town in rural Scotland with her cat Pebbles, before she burst into world wide internet fame with her performance on the British equivalent and parent of American Idol.

Susan’s dream, as she told it to Simon Cowell, was to be a singer as famous as Elaine Paige. The audience sniggered a bit while looking at her, a frumpy, frizzy haired, middle-aged, plump church lady who sang in the choir and at the neighborhood pub’s Karaoke. Susan opened her mouth and began to sing. She sang a song from Les Miserables called “I had a Dream.” The audience went wild. The judges were stunned. Susan became an overnight sensation.

As Susan rocketed to fame, the media went crazy writing about her. We learned she was the youngest of 7, never married, never kissed, 47, unemployed, oxygen deprived at birth, and lived with her mum until she died a few years ago. Susan was also a bit slow with her nickname being “Simple Susan”. And, yet, we watched Susan as her dream came TRUE over the past seven weeks. When you go to You tube and search for Elaine Paige, the comments on ELAINE’s You-tube videos ask if you came BECAUSE of Susan Boyle! She toured the states, appearing on Oprah and Larry King. However, her dream didn’t turn out quite the way Susan dreamed it even if she now WAS as famous (or maybe temporarily MORE famous) than Elaine Paige with 235 million viewers on You-tube and various internet sites.

Last week’s pressure cooker of energy resulted in Susan Boyle (and many of us) reevaluating the dream(s) we had. The tabloid press in Britain was picking on her, camped outside her house. She swore at two reporters and flipped them off. There were rumors that she wanted to quit the show. People complained she was too slow mentally so it was cruel to have her be on the pressure cooker of Britain’s Got Talent. We might have wanted to quit if we were under that pressure! Susan didn’t quit. Susan showed up. Susan sang her song. Susan went for her dream, even if wasn’t quite all it was cracked up to be once the dream got closer to coming true and she began to get a good look at. Susan sang beautifully. Susan came in second place.

Now as Saturn goes direct and Mercury joins him going direct, sit down with the lyrics of the song, “I had a Dream”. Think about the dream in YOUR life. Pick yourself up. Give yourself permission to move toward it. Maybe what you’ve gotten or found isn’t the “EXACT” version of your vision or dream. But your life and your earlier dreams did serve to get you to here, to where you are now. Your dream, flawed and not quite fulfilled the way you wanted, created your current life.

So rather than saying agreeing with the song lyrics that Life has killed the dream you dreamed and continuing to live in hell, look at your life and create the NEXT dream for yourself. Your old dream powered you and brought you to where you are now. Your NEW dream (or REVISED dream) moves you towards your NEXT chapter. Be clear and concise with your New or Revised dream. Dream big, bold, and brave. Take the wisdom of the past and create your future. Envision a new dream. No regrets.

Anne: You can definitely figure it out and get MUCH more value from my column. Go to ASTRO.com to the “Free Chart” option. Prepare a copy of your chart. On the chart page, there is a tab on the upper left that says “View the Additional Tables”. It prints out which house each planet is in, as well as the sign on the every house for your chart. Each planet rules a sign, and a house. Using that and your chart, you should be able to follow along a bit better. Get a beginner book on Astrology which will include who rules what sign for more in-depth information. The book will also explain that each pie slice in your natal chart is a whole section of your life, or house. In the mean time, here’s a quick listing:

Anne: A solar return IS a chart of where the planets are now, on your birthday. We cast it for the day and time of when the sun returns to where the natal sun was at the time of your birth. It is where the phrase "many happy returns" comes from ~or many happy birthdays and a long life. It is why birthday cakes have one candle to grow on in the middle of the circle of candles around the edge ~ ever notice that lit birthday cake looks like the astrological symbol for the Sun?

Solar Returns work like a snapshot of the year. Read it first as a stand alone chart. Then apply it to your natal chart. Starting at the midheaven, you can use it as a predictive tool too. Say your birthday is in May. Houses 10,11,12 are May, June, July, Houses 1,2,3 are August, September, October. Houses 4,5,6 are November, December, January. Houses 7,8,9 are February, March and April of next year. The houses where the planets fall show which months are "hopping" and how they are going to hop. Say Saturn fall in the 6^th house of the solar return, then January, the ninth month after your May birthday, is going to be a "Saturn month."

This year we each will have huge creativity and healing in the month/ house where Jupiter / Neptune/ Chiron fall. You can do the same process from the sun but that is more complicated. Start with the house that the Sun falls in and count counterclockwise in 30 day increments to find the month. Solar returns do match the transits in your natal chart! Look to the house the sun is in and the house the sun rules to see the "solar focus" for the year. Look to the Ascendant and the house it falls in in your natal chart to see the emphasis and area you will be focused on for the year.

It’s a rocking and rolling, cranky, crabby and soul growth producing kind of week as three planets station and shift directions, Mars wakes up the triple conjunction in Aquarius, Jupiter joins with Neptune and our other planetary guides squabble with each other above our heads. There will be all sorts of interesting things popping in or out, settling down, dissolving, materializing or happening as we settle into the next stage of reality which is already starting to unfold before us. Ready or not, here comes the next big chapter of your life! I do hope you are ready!

From February to now, we’ve worked with Venus in Aries, as well as her 40 day retrograde in Aries. We are now beginning a new eight cycle with her energy. Over the past few months, we ended an eight cycle around our Venus areas! Think back to spring 2001 to see the earlier cycle that unfolded over the past 8 years. We’ve gotten clearer on what we desire, love, adore and want in our lives around all the things Venus rules ~ love, money, portable assets, passion, self esteem, personal skills and face to face relationships with friends, partners or open enemies.

Some partners turned INTO open enemies. Some open enemies revealed themselves to be our partners ~ at least in making us conscious. Venus has left her shadow! She is now completely clear about what she’s looking for and perhaps more importantly what she is NOT looking for. Take a moment to think about the Venus areas of your chart, the Taurus and Libra ruled houses as well as where Venus lives natally to get clear on her new position(s) on things.

From December to last week, we’ve worked with Saturn going retrograde in Virgo. He‘s gone back to revisit September 2008’s decisions and choices after Pluto went into Capricorn for the next 16 years. Saturn offers us the unique opportunity to revise our decisions and choices about things that hold/create the structures in our lives as well as what kind of authority we are or perceive ourselves to be. Virgo, the sign Saturn is currently in, often makes conservative choices, proper decisions and does “what is right and fair for all” instead of what it wants to do. Saturn is in the sign of the apprentice, so it often looks to an outside authority for the rules rather than trusting its own instincts about what to do.

Those traits can be used to the sign’s disadvantage! People saying to a Virgo planet “That’s not fair!” or even if they criticize its choices and decisions, it will often lead to a reversal or reconsideration of the position by the Virgo planet. Perhaps the criticisms provoke a thin skinned reaction of either withdraw or attack on Saturn‘s part. Or, Saturn cedes his authority to the loudest voice or argument in the room. Virgo isn’t called a mutable sign for no reason ~ it changes its mind quite a bit but is more quiet about it than Gemini or Pisces are and worries a heck of a lot more. What are you WORRIED about ~ that is the focal point of Saturn right now. 

So since last fall, people saying “That’s not fair!” have made you look and look again at your choices and decisions. That look again and second guess yourself or your choices or give your mastery/power over to another person energy is ending this week when Mercury stations to go direct in a fixed earth sign. You’ve made your decisions. You are becoming crystal clear and a “master” instead of an "apprentice" about some area of your life (the Virgo house and the Capricorn and Aquarius ruled houses). You are soon to be (if you aren’t already) crystal clear about the choices before you and what you want going forward in your life.

So on to THIS week of your life’s journey. Mercury stops to station and turn direct. As he slows down, he DOESN’T have any close approaching aspects to any one else. He’s off, by himself, in solitude, thinking, slowly, about what he wants and his ideas for the future. Mercury is in a solid earth sign, fixed and focused. He’s past his second square to the triple conjunction of Jupiter/ Neptune/ Chiron so his thinking is a bit clearer and not so tied up in the “rapture” or dreams of the gang of three. He’s getting clearer on HIS dreams, not the other guy or gal’s dreams. He’s instructing Saturn and helping Saturn focus on the future too. Watch the worry part shift this week as Mercury slows and shifts his focus/ direction.

Jupiter joins with Neptune, part one of a three repeating adventure taking place now, in July on the 10^th and December 21^st . Jupiter and Neptune will form a new vision of reality, start the next 12 year cycle around community, relations and creativity as well as a new 12 year cycle in your Aquarian house. Jupiter’s union with Neptune dissolves many of our older relationships as it starts new ones about our dreams for our future. It is a week to notice and think about your dreams for yourself. Adjust them a bit to take in the changing reality around you but DO give yourself permission to dream big, bold and brave. Even if you don’t know how you are going to get there, give yourself a big, bold and brave dream. Don’t get lost in the sorrow or sadness of what is dissolving before you. Focus on the idea that you are here on earth for a reason. Redirect the Jupiter Neptune Chiron energy into a more spacious and generous energy.

Take time to Sit Quietly. Connect to your higher soul. Breathe. It will calm down inside if you know every thing happening around you all part of your path and all part of the process of becoming. Think about a cute little caterpillar ~ it you told her that she was going to weave a cocoon, and tuck herself into it and evolve, she'd probably say, Nope, not me, I don't wanna do it. Literally, the caterpillar dissolves itself, it’s stout little solid body and loses a bunch of legs into a bunch of gooky, sticky DNA juice and protoplasm while in the cocoon. It reconstitutes itself (after a while) as a winged butterfly, less legs, lighter on its feet and with a whole new diet ~ pollen instead of leaves.

The forces taking place now are the forces of evolution in your life, similar to the butterfly. Like that caterpillar, you are in the process of evolving. You are on the middle part where you let go of the old life and the new life isn't here yet. It can feel like a gooky, sticky mess of protoplasm inside your cocoon or world. The butterfly is not yet formed BUT you can't go back to being a caterpillar any more either. You have to trust the process and keep moving forward.

Focus on the THINGS YOU ARE CLEAR ABOUT, that is the path through the process of change. The parts you are NOT clear about, put those in a pile in the corner and don‘t worry about them. Easier said than done, I know, but that is the best approach to take with the unclear pile.

The BEST thing to do is to distract your MIND and give it some tasks it can focus on. (see, do and work on the stuff you are CLEAR about) Even if all your mind can focus on is how nervous and anxious you are ~ see how your fingers are nervous and drum, how your leg wiggles or you feel short of breath. Distract that busy and crazed working mind of yours with a job to do to keep it focused on what it CAN do something about rather than the uncertainty before it.

Neptune and Chiron both station to go retrograde this week. Neptune is where we can make ourselves a bit crazy over illusionary things. Chiron is where we can feel deeply wounded by things or people that don’t go our way. With Chiron, we manage to dig out old scars and rewound ourselves yet again. The higher version of them is “rapturous redemption” and “wounded healer”. However, we all know that when planets STATION, they often draw our attention to the lower versions of their energies and forms one earth and in our lives.

Mars, in late Aries, triggers Chiron, Jupiter, and Neptune right before they join up and before the two of them station. This is, fortunately, a working and positive aspect of an opening sextile. You DO have to work to both create and see the underlying story that supports your dream. That said, Neptune and Chiron are stopped dead in the water so the NOT fun aspects can be a bit more “stinging” than usual. It is a good week to keep your mouth shut and observe what other people say and do. You are going to see wounds and delusions flapping around all over the place. We all have wounds and delusions. This week, they are hanging out to dry on the wash line and the neighbors are talking.

So be gentle and kind with yourself and others this week. We are all combinations of gooky sticky protoplasm, brave bold dreamers, the heroes and heroines of our own life’s journey and hanging out on earth to help each other evolve as our wounds and delusions hang on the line to dry out. We are all going to be a bit of a mess. At the same time, we all know, with quite a bit of clarity, what we want (at least in some part of our life) for the next chapter. Move towards the clear part in your life. Put the stuff you don’t know what to do with in a pile. Give others hankies if they cry. (Gonna be a lot of tears this week). Say “there, there” and pat hands as needed. Distribute hugs. Big, big evolutionary week. You are leaving caterpillar life behind (wave so long to it!) and moving toward becoming your own butterfly.

Monday, Venus has fun as she reassembles home and hearth, making lovely changes a new part of her and your life as she aspects Vesta in Gemini. Move the furniture! Redecorate! Dream of the vision and desire. It is a great day to plant flowers, eat, party and enjoy life. Moon in Gemini is very busy and talking, connecting, relating to your desires and how to get them as well as the triple conjunction coming up. Good vision board day if you didn’t have a chance to do one under the New Moon in Gemini yesterday.

Tuesday , Mars gets in the action as he aspects Uranus, Chiron and Jupiter with a harsh, sudden adjusting and two working productive aspects. Mars wants to get things done, finished and out the door. Expect volatility and the desire to “change things up” under the energy of today. It is a rocking and rolling day. The desire to evolve (or punch someone) is strong. Moon in Cancer makes us MUCH more emotionally sensitive and thin skinned as well as having harsh closing aspects to Mars so we are in the mood to fight, particularly about security issues. Some things can leave your life to never return if you fight over them today. It is okay. Let them go. You will be quite clear what needs to go. Door slamming can take place.

Wednesday is our very busy day on earth! Jupiter joins with Neptune, part one. What’s the new dream that is lurking? What’s the loss of belief. What is leaving and ending, never to return? What’s the hope that seeks to expand and grow? Chiron wants to point out the pattern so you can see it and adjust. Uranus counters with pointing out the pattern and how it served you. See the pattern. Do you see your pattern? Sun joins with the North Node by declination, pulling each of us forward to our next chapter. People can leave earth today or leave your life or arrive IN your life. It is a changing cross over day of connections for your future and changing your life. Take note of who and what you meet or hear from or who leaves and why. Venus has an aspect of brilliance with Saturn. It is an inspired idea! It can also be the love of your life ~ or the next serious creative project ~ it starts today with the part one union of Jupiter and Neptune. Thursday I never said changing your patterns would be EASY! Of course the caterpillar moans or maybe shouts, “NO more chewing on LEAVES!!?? EVER? Well, then I don’t wanna become a stupid butterfly!” How do you explain to a caterpillar that pollen is even BETTER for you than leaves? Wings versus legs ~ whatta concept?! The caterpillar has NO idea, because he’s never experienced it, that pollen and wings and being able to fly instead of crawl is a good thing. Today, regression takes place. The inner caterpillar in you shouts, “Hell no, I won’t go!” Well, you can sit by the side of the road and cry for a bit but sooner or later, you are going to get hungry, thirsty or need to pee. You are going to get up to take care of those functions. Things change. It is changing around you. Might as well change with it. It is a day when you will get the loss part ~ you are giving up being a caterpillar. That is kinda scary. What happens if you don't like butterfly life once you get there? Oh, go for it. Friday, Neptune stations. Might be another day by the side of the road. You weren’t THAT hungry or thirsty. Bushes are perfectly fine to pee behind, provided you watched out for the poison ivy back there. Sun has an aspect of brilliance to Uranus ~ I call these Margarita Days. You want to go set up a beach bar on a remote island right next to the ocean and serve drinks to sailors who sail by. Escape your life and the choices before you. The hell with all the other worrisome stuff, it is time to escape your life. Change those out worn patterns. Keep the patterns that work for you. Focus on the stuff you are clear on ~ do that. Keep your working mind busy. The stuff you are NOT clear on, leave in a pile to be decided on later.

Saturn’s day, Chiron stations. Now you are starting to get a bit of a sun burn, waiting by the side of the road. Hungry, sweaty, thirsty and deciding what to do about the other type of elimination which is pressing against your nether regions. Or maybe you are dredging up every last wound you ever had. Can you please put it down? Can you please focus a bit? You are a caterpillar. You’ve been a caterpillar for a long time (at least 15 years!). You are currently in the process of evolving into a butterfly. It is GOING to happen! You ARE going to evolve! There isn’t anything you or they or any one else can do to stop it, prevent it, or make it not happen, short of jumping off a bridge. And if you jump off a bridge you’ll come back with a HORRIBLE chart that makes this one look like a walk in the park! Let’s make the assumption that when you were picking your chart and what you wanted your life to look like this time around, you agreed to evolve in the late spring and early summer of 2009. Maybe you didn’t realize you agreed to that, but you did. You are in the process of moving to the next level. You are in the process of evolving. If you have to give up being a caterpillar, becoming a butterfly is NOT such a bad option. At least TRY it? You might actually like it. Watch for important news to come into your life as Mercury stations to go direct. Change those out worn patterns. Keep the patterns that work for you. Focus on the stuff you are clear on ~ do that. Sunday the creation energy has a gift of brilliance with the node. Ever wonder WHY caterpillars have to turn into butterflies? Why can’t they just STAY caterpillars all their short little lives and never, ever change? They don’t have a choice. We humans do have a choice. We do. Some of us will actually decide to stay caterpillars, and never, ever, evolve. Who wants to be a stupid butterfly anyway!? The caterpillar people will start to separate from you now. Those folks who want to stay caterpillars will slip away and go chew leaves while you evolve. The universe will be back for them eventually. Maybe it isn’t their time to evolve yet. I am assuming you are with me, and agreeing to change from a caterpillar to a butterfly. We humans have free will which gives us a bit of a choice in the timing of this evolution business! Change those out worn patterns. Keep the patterns that work for you. Focus on the stuff you are clear on ~ do that. Keep your working mind busy. The stuff you are NOT clear on, leave in a pile to be decided on later. Forward we go, into butterfly time ~ metamorphosis. It will be fun. You’ll LOVE being a butterfly. I promise. Notice that string popping out of the hole near your butt? That is how you start to make your cocoon! It is easy. You’ll love it. Mars enters Taurus and starts to make a fixed, firm plan for his evolution.  Pull the string sticking out of the hole near your butt!  Let's start!

Mundane: Monday, May 25 is Memorial Day ~ a war remembrance three day holiday in the states! One email I received was filled with photographs of cemeteries at various locations of battles during wartimes. They were filled with thousands of dead American soldiers buried all over the earth. It was pretty astounding actually. My godson is a Marine, soon to be sent back overseas. An uncle I never knew died as a fighter pilot and is buried in one of those cemetaries in Belgium. It is good to be aware of the cost, in lives not lived and tears shed, of wars fought. It is good to thank our veterans for fighting, often at great personal cost.

Going to be a major week of news on planet earth with three planet stations and Mars changing signs. Expect lots of iconic, visionary, dreamers or leadership folks to leave us for their next chapter of evolution.

This week and next will be when the stock market drops again to hit bottom by June 15. After that, it should be safe to go back into the investing water!

For the past few weeks as Mercury has been going retrograde, we’ve been revisiting choices, memos and decisions made by the Bush Administration about the war on terror. It was complete with dueling speeches about torture and fear by Dick Cheney and Barack Obama last week. People are easily led when they are afraid. Think of how docile and submissive you become when you are afraid. Either that, or you fight or you run for the hills. Fight, flight or freeze. Fear sells. Fear manipulates. Fear gets us to do things we might not do under other situations.

Be aware that fear is an enormous motivating source. Watch out for fear this week. Don’t act or react out of fear. Stand in your soul’s light and take deep breaths!

New Moon

3:28 Gemini Sun and Moon

It will always be an interesting and rather magical New Moon when Mercury, the ruler of both the Gemini Sun and Moon is retrograde, going backwards, stirring up the pot, sowing confusion where ever he goes.

It will be an even MORE interesting and rather profoundly magical New Moon when the retrograde ruler, Mercury, is placed in the 12^th house of the Sun and Moon so the actions we take very well may will show each of us how we undo, suffer or manage to self sabotage ourselves OR the actions we take will lead us to our karmic destiny in a rapid and inspired manner.

And it will be a fabulously interesting and amazing magical New Moon when the ruler, Mercury, is STILL in the rapture or delusion of his square to Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron and activated by that 12^th house Mars in Aries to take action, rapidly, impulsively and to get things accomplished even if he has NOT a CLUE what he doing.

It will further be a stupendously interesting and gloriously magical New Moon when the Moon is moving FAST and OUT OF BOUNDS ~ not following “traditional” rules of how things are done or established.

Mars in Aries, strong, clear, straightforward and proud, is the final dispositor of the chart as well as the Moon and Sun. Mars in Aries as the “boss” of the whole business is a brave, clean shooting, sharp eyed warrior who you’d want next to you in a foxhole and a thank you ma’am, door holding, polite, shy, strong and helpful fellow in social situations. Moon and Sun, answer to Mercury, who answers to Venus in Aries who looks to Mars in Aries. Mars in Aries goes back to himself ~ the twice repeating planet is the final dispositor. Saturn in Virgo ~ back to Mercury and repeat the cycle described above is also disposited by Mars in Aries. Pluto in Capricorn and the Aquarian clump of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron ~ all ruled by Saturn back to Mars. It is a Mars in Aries kind of New Moon.

As you can guess, I am loving this New Moon ~ more for what it doesn’t promise than for what it promises. I am also loving it for the clarity of the vision involved as Mars in Aries is a wonderful energy. If you cast a chart for the New Moon, you’ll notice there are a large number of planets arranged in a fan at 24 to 26 degrees. That means those planets are all talking to each other. They are talking to each other from either a 12^th house or second house connection. Or from BOTH house conditions ~ second and 12^th house ~ making it an very unusual combination of energy under the New Moon.

First we’ll talk about the 12^th house relationships as they are more difficult to pinpoint, and much, much easier to fall into, ker plunk! And, naturally, they are stickier to extricate yourself from. Mercury, retrograde, rules the New Moon. He is in the 12^th house undoing, unwrapping of the New Moon. Mars is in the 12^th house sabotage and secret enemy of Mercury. Uranus is in the 12^th house blind spot and hidden problem of Mars. Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron are in the 12^th house karmic results, secrets and sorrows of Uranus. Each planet is in the 12^th house of the other, in orb, talking to each other, and open and available to help you undermine yourself right into consciousness. You will undermine yourself into consciousness by repeating a self defeating or self undoing or unconscious behavior. And, because Saturn is going direct now while Mercury is still retrograde, YOU ARE GOING TO BE SO AWARE of how this seems to happen to you OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again. You will finally see your role in it as well as the pattern involved. It helps that Pallas Athena, our strategic pattern seer is at 24 of Cancer and aspecting all the other 24 planets. If YOU don’t see it, someone you LOVE will see it and be pointing it out to you.

So while you may WANT and TRY to undermine yourself, yet again, the planets are going to be stopping you from doing it unconsciously. It is NEVER as much fun to do self destructive or self undoing behavior when you are conscious and aware that you are doing it! The thrill goes away. Consciousness sucks in that regard!

From the SECOND house perspective, the clump of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron linking up will be our starting point. In a second house skills and talent relationship to the big three, we find Uranus in Pisces. In a second house valued and valuable relationship to Uranus, we find Mars in Aries. And in a second house portable asset and self worth relationship to Mars, we find Mercury in Taurus. The ongoing, three part union of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron this year is designed to start us on a 12 year journey of discovery, expansion, connection and healing as we travel through the early part of Pluto in Capricorn. Both Capricorn and Aquarius answer to Saturn’s guidance. Again, Pallas Athena at 24 Cancer in aspect to all the second house relationships helps us see how they are all interrelated.

All those second house connections imply that the same energy that undoes or undermines us on a bad day is the energy that provides our talents, skills and assets on a good day.

So think about it. Watch what is going on in your world under the New Moon. Watch your responses. Choose differently than perhaps you usually do. Notice what new project you are starting in the Gemini house in your chart ~ the moon at 3:27 says the early degrees of Gemini are what counts. The cycle will unfold in the shorter time frame of 30 days but also opens up over the next 2 ½ years as the Lunar family of related moons opens up, first quarter in Pisces season 2010, full moon in Sagittarius season 2010 and closing quarter in Virgo season 2011.

It is a moon to become aware on. Gemini is the sign and time when we learn to talk and start to correlate what we ask for with what we get. We LEARN we have agency in the world ~ that our thoughts, words and actions get us things we want and sometime things we don’t want. ‘Milk’, ‘No’ , ‘Juice’ , says the toddler to parents or a care giver. The toddler learns that their thoughts and words lead to other people taking actions. We are each toddlers under this New Moon ~ toddlers in our big old human bodies ~ learning to speak in a new way. Learning the consequences of getting what we ask for. Learning how to get more of what we want and less of what we don‘t want. Learning how our thoughts and words get us Juice or a perhaps a Vodka Collins or screw up things completely when that was NOT our intent. It is all part of the process.

So take your inner toddler out for a stroll and see what attracts them. Watch out for that hot plate that burns ~ those 12^th house aspects. Watch for the newly learned ability to tie your shoe or put on socks and get that heel part in the right place on your heel ~ those second house aspects. Take and use the energy as a toddler would ~ bang your cup if they give you the wrong thing or not what you asked for. Be content and stuff it in your mouth with BOTH hands if it is what you want. Throw the food on the ground when you are finished. Live boldly!

Yes, the world can be that simple again. And in truth it IS that simple. We just forget from time to time. Recapture that toddler joy again under the New Moon. The adult world will be back soon enough.

Lynda Hill’s Interpretation of the Sabian Image for the Gemini Sun and Moon is HOLLY AND MISTLETOE BRING CHRISTMAS SPIRIT TO A HOME

Commentary: ‘Holly and Mistletoe Bring Christmas Spirit to a Home’ is a wonderfully warm and inviting image. The ancient Druids of Britain regarded ‘Mistletoe’ as sacred and believed it had both magical powers and medicinal properties. They referred to it as the “heal all,” although now we know the berries can be poisonous, so care needs to be taken with them. “Kissing beneath the Mistletoe” is a tradition that has developed over the years as we have built barriers to more spontaneous expressions of affection. It is almost as though the ‘Mistletoe’ and the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ have become an excuse for us to be able to show our feelings. We have developed these types of rituals to compensate for what has truly been lost. ‘Mistletoe’ was so sacred to the Druids that if two enemies met beneath a tree on which ‘Mistletoe’ was growing, they would lay down their weapons, exchange greetings and observe a 24-hour truce.

Oracle: ‘Christmas’ represents a time when we can reconnect with loved ones, family, or, in a larger sense, humanity, to discover the strengths and joys in the cultural and religious bonds that hold families and people together. However, we don’t have to wait until a special celebration, such as ‘Christmas’ to feel close to friends and family. The openness that the ‘Holly and Mistletoe’ represents should be carried in our hearts always and not restricted merely to a few days of the year. Realizing how important those near and dear to us really are we should put in the effort to reach out to others at any time. It is not just about acknowledging these bonds, but also affectionately embracing them. ‘Mistletoe’ is said to represent regeneration and the restoration of family life. Perhaps it is time to bring that ‘Spirit’ of peace and reconciliation into the home and the family right now, regardless of the time or the season.

Keywords: Social celebrations of the spirit. Returning to basic joys. Remembering past celebrations of family and social cohesion. Kissing under the mistletoe. Using simple gestures to remind us of larger realities. Warmth, joy and anticipation.

The Caution: The use of superficial tricks. Performances to achieve the appearance of happiness or familial ties. Neglecting family. Excluding others because of religious beliefs. Rituals that have no depth or true meaning. Loneliness. Not being in the spirit of things.

It is a GREAT New Moon for a ritual of beginnings to reverse habits that are old or no longer serve us Mercury’s retrograde makes us conscious of our not so supportive habits. The 12^th and second house aspects let us see the interconnections of everything to everything else and how they all build or collapse upon each other seemly simultaneously but actually in concert with each other. Take time to meditate or journal on the New Moon about what you and your Inner Toddler (who might have a temper tantrum or two) want in your life.

Weekly Weather May 18, 2009

Confusion, important connections and a bit of welcome lightness or extreme sadness characterize the week.

Second, you are still playing the fast moving Ping Pong game but you are going to get the hang of it mid-week and get MUCH better at it. Ping pong. Ping pong! And, while the double negatives, hidden things surfacing, missing parts noticed or left out kind of ended last week with Saturn’s station to go direct on Saturn‘s day, we still have Mercury going retrograde bollixing up things around ideas, thoughts and communications. And Mercury IS ruling Saturn so he is bollixing things up around Saturn even as Saturn is now going direct.

We can expect continuing miscommunications as the third theme of the week ~ but at least our negative concord is done with Saturn‘s pivoting, facing and moving forward. Forward we go with Saturn direct. The issue with the communications is they are NOT going to be CLEAR but they ARE going to be full of EMOTIONS. So when you have communications that make you emotional, either good or bad emotions, make sure to SIT with them (both the emotions and the underlying communication) to see the underlying message. The emotions are there to have you pay attention to YOUR stuff and YOUR reaction. Be clear, but talk nice, and clarify what you are hearing. Double and triple check. Repeat back to them WHAT THEY SAID to double check you heard it correctly. Then, take the information and go think about it.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON’T ACT ON THE EMOTIONS! Sit with the emotions and let them settle down. The imagery is the fish that ejects black dye into the water to confuse you and prevent you from seeing it. The fish thinks YOU are the predator. You are simply a nice person who happens to be swimming by. It ejects black ink and suddenly you think you did something wrong. It is the FISHES’ issue. However the black dye plays right into YOUR issue. That is why I don’t want you to ACT on the issue. I want you to pay attention to it but don’t ACT on it.

The point of all the craziness is to get you clear. Crystal Clear. Saturn clear. Ping pong. Ping pong. Back and forth you go. You are getting clearer aren’t you?

What CAN you do something about? What ARE you clear on? Do THAT! Focus on THAT! Tend to THAT! Direct your considerable energy THAT WAY! Ignore the rest for the time being. Ignore this part but focus on the part you can do something about.

What CAN’T you do any thing about? What AREN’T you clear on? Put that pile of stuff over in a corner by the door and let it sit there until you decide what you want to do about it. No use spending time on stuff you can’t do anything about. No use wasting energy on it. Ignore it for the time being. It will sort it self out. The black ink will settle down.

Venus was retrograde all spring focusing on getting you clear about what you wanted to do. So go and do it. Ignore the rest of the stuff on your list. Focus on what you can DO something about. Focus on what you know you want to DO. Spend little or no time on the other stuff. Mutter “mm hmmm” under your breath, nod or shake your head in agreement or disagreement and DO NOTHING. If you aren’t CRYSTAL clear, and NON EMOTIONAL, DO NOTHING! Wait!

Saturn will be bringing you further instructions in a bit (once Mercury goes direct and gets out of Taurus). Take action on what you know you want to take action on and ignore the rest of the stuff. Completely ignore it except for a strategically placed “um hmmm” or hand patting “There. There.” This part is THEIR journey after all. Not at all your journey. That is why you are NOT clear on it. It isn’t part of your path. This is their black ink, not yours. You just happened to be in the neighborhood when the black ink got squirted at you.

To repeat. The stuff that you are NOT clear on is NOT part of your path. Or at least it is NOT the main part of your path. The stuff you ARE clear on IS your path. Go work on the stuff that IS YOUR path. Ignore the rest of it for now.

Saturn stations have a way of crystallizing in sharp relief the things that are important to us and the things that are no longer part of our journey. As Saturn starts to move forward this week, he’s going to retrace his steps from last September through late December and get you crystal clear focused on the next part of your journey. No more time to dilly dally. You are going to feel Saturn breathing down your neck as he wants you to get crystal clear on the stuff you are focusing on and here to do.

If it moves forward with lightening speed, it is your friend Saturn helping you, pushing you, prodding you. If it seems blocked and held up and not moving forward, delayed, obfuscated, unclear, frustrating and blocked, it means you probably aren’t supposed to be heading down that particular path (at least right now) and Saturn is blocking it. Saturn is quite opinionated these days and he doesn‘t have time or think you have any more time to waste on these matters.

There is a lovely new Moon in Gemini on Sunday that starts a double project ~ get ready to go! Sun moves into Gemini on Wednesday and offers us some interesting choices ~ which will become MUCH clearer when Mercury goes direct at the end of the month. Mercury dives back into the clump of emotional energy mid-week inviting you back into a morass of mush ~ parts of gushy, sticky energy you’ll probably want to pass on. Interesting week for all the changes ahead.

Key words ~ if you are not CRYSTAL CLEAR don’t touch it or do it!

Monday, Sun and Mercury link up with the Moon in an emotional and boundary free sign, if you are not crystal clear, do nothing. Or delegate to someone who IS crystal clear. Venus, Mars and Mercury are all talking by declination ~ they are giving you information to ponder, learn about and perhaps take action on. You don‘t have to. You only have to STOP doing what you are doing. That is change right there. Jupiter joins with Uranus so you are going to FEEL like you have to break free and finish this up this very second. No, that is just Saturn moving forward and the sense that you don’t have enough time in the day to do it all. You don’t. So do the important stuff you are crystal clear on and leave the rest parked in the corner for the time being.

Tuesday, more Pisces moon but this time she’s able to separate as she talks with Mercury and the Sun and joins with Uranus. It makes for a bit more clarity around the EGO ~ you get clear on what you WANT but you may still not know what you want to DO. Completely fine. Do nothing. Say you are researching and will get back to them. It will completely drive them crazy but that is not your problem. That is their problem. Jupiter has a stressed aspect to Uranus so things that were previously hidden come to light ~ seemingly out of your blind spot. Mercury gets a great idea from Pluto ~ perhaps a bit wicked but still a great idea. Mull it over. Mars gets offered a great opportunity by Saturn ~ again mull it over. Unless you are crystal clear, sit with it for at least a day or two for more information to come in. Sun and Venus have gifts of brilliance too. What ever is going on is for the higher good. Wednesday pressures us to make choices. Moon in Aries pushes. Sun changes signs. Mercury dances with Chiron, Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune. Tears. High emotions roll in like storm clouds on a summer’s day. Here’s where the emotions can roll strong and fast and feel completely out of control. You have to adjust. Adjust. Adjust. If you traditionally JUMP into fix it, sit back. If you traditionally, sit back, JUMP into. Only take action if you are crystal clear. Emotions are wild today and completely over the top for good or bad. If you aren’t CRYSTAL CLEAR don’t make the choice! Ask for time. Something larger is at work here, a clearing of the path, a focus of the energy, a helping you see. We attract people into our lives to help us live out our chart. Today is such a day. I want you to pull the living your chart out of the other person‘s hands and understand YOUR role in it today. Take back your chart ~ it is found in the emotional reaction you are having. Take back that emotion. Sit in it. There is SOME payoff that you are getting from the dynamic between you and the “causer of emotion”. What is it? Can you see it? Do you understand the dynamic? You were going along, simply minding your own business, swimming along and suddenly black ink all around you. Do you see you didn‘t do ANYTHING? But some how you are still responsible? See where the boundaries of that lie ~ once the black ink settles of course. They did something for you that you needed them to do. So, do you still need it? Do you still need them to do it for you?

Thursday ~ ping pong again! It is still game on! Moon in Aries is VERY busy as she joins up with the action planets. You might be a bit clearer today about what you want to do. If still not clear, take the energy and GO DO SOME THING useful with it! Changes to your home or nest are possible as the aspects support creating a haven for your soul. And you have Oodles of energy to do it with. Clear, remove, get rid of, release. Maybe angry emotions too~ those are fine. Again NO ACTION ON THE EMOTIONS! Sit in them. Notice what they want you to clear.

Friday Taurus moon helps to settle things down a bit. It is a dark moon and great for releasing things you no longer need or want. You might be tempted to send a nasty email or letter based on emotions. Sit on them. Write it but don’t send it. And don‘t write it on your computer. Sit down and write it by HAND. Get the feelings down on PAPER in front of you. That way you can see them. No texting. No emails. On paper. In ink. With tear stains. Sun moves into an aspect with the North node so the choices become a bit clearer. There are at least two choices. Yes, No are clear. What are your OTHER options? Why do you think you only have stay or go? Why can’t you negotiate the other parts of the deal? Why aren’t there other sources or choices? Well, of course there are other choices and sources. You happen to like THIS one best but there ARE other options. Explore your other options. Take time today to look at what they are and see them as viable, even if they might need a bit of work. The summer officially begins as Memorial Day Weekend starts.

Saturn’s day, Jupiter joins with Chiron starting a new 14 year cycle. Your wound can feel very large today. Or you can notice the first of the new skin growing over it. It is a day to celebrate the new beginnings and healing energy of love and connection. Sun argues with Pluto so you MIGHT not LOVE the first good look you get at it. So how can it be changed, adjusted or worked with to be made more to your liking!? Vesta squares Juno asking you to focus on how to partner with it in a creative way to get what you want and where you are going.

Sunday brings us a new moon. Read the new Moon report on this site or in the early edition sent out last week. Gemini new moon as Mercury is retrograde offers you a new way of thinking about things or seeing them. Duality ~ the light/dark, salt/pepper, yes/no of life is very prominent today. We start a new 2 ½ year cycle today of being able to see our choices as OUR choices. We are not puppets pulled by some cosmic force. We have choice. We might be afraid of our choice but we have choice. Mars is fighting with Pallas and very active next week so watch for patterns. Change your patterns, change your life! Yes, it is that easy. Moon in Gemini suggests you do a little of this and a little of that ~ both are part of you.

While in he lived in long bouts of silence in undisclosed locations during his Vice- presidency, he seems to be on every talk show that will take him now! Just our luck, his Solar Arc moon entered Gemini! He’s going to be a Republican version of a Chatty Cathie doll (an appropriate age reference for those of you in your 50s who remember Chatty Cathie with all the cool records you could stick in her body to make her talk!) for the next 30 years ~ or for the rest of this year for sure! He has T Mars and Venus coming to his Progressed Sun in Aries in the eighth house so he is mad as hell and not going to take it any more. T Neptune, Jupiter and Chiron are on his natal Mercury in the 6^th house, removing the traditional boundaries that prevent a prior official from criticizing the current administration. Ever wonder why Carter, the pacifist didn’t criticize the Bushies for torture and illegal wars until late, late, late in the game ~ he was following the rules. Well Dick never saw a rule that applied to him nor followed it. (A negative conundrum!)

Obama flip flopped on releasing the torture photos ~ safety for the troops ~ as Saturn stationed and went forward. Dick wants the CIA memos declassified and released to prove that torture worked. Maybe he’ll push for the photos too! Troop safety be damned in an effort to prove he was right. Mercury retrograde still promises us more changes on the matter. See even our government officials are involved in the Ping Pong game. And you thought it was just in YOUR life!

I predict torture photos and memos will eventually be released due to the ACLU. Or perhaps, Obama will flip flop back again. Dick will be stunned by the reaction of the public to what they find out. Instead of us siding with him that torture is okay, he will feel betrayed by us being appalled at what was done in our names.

Me, I HATE that little girls and boys were raped and tortured in front of their fathers in my name. I‘d like the whole mess COMPLTELY exposed so we are shocked and appalled as a nation and vow to never do it again. People, we executed Japanese soldiers for water boarding prisoners and captured troops during WW2! NOW water boarding is okay because WE do it? No, torture is not okay. Besides it sows unbelievably bad karma!

Weekly Weather May 11, 2009

You are going to feel a bit like a cosmic ping pong ball this week. Have you ever watch professional ping pong ball players in a heated game? The ball flies SO fast back and forth over the net! The ball is so fast that you can’t see it. Ping Pong is so much about hand/ eye coordination and sensing where you have to be to return the ball. As a ping pong spectator, you kind of know where the ball was based on where the ping pong paddles and players are. As a ping pong player, you move to where the ball is going to be by instinct and training, zoom, zoom, zip, swish. As the ping pong ball itself, you are trying hard just to hold on to your head and stay in the game as you get smashed back and forth between a set of paddles.

As often is the case with astrological metaphors ~ some weeks you alternate as the spectator, player and ball. This will be one of the “those” kind of weeks ~ expect all three roles as the week features a lot of twisty, turning energy, speedy returns, reversals and double bounces as the planets bounce about in the heavens above.

We are still working with the double negative issues from last week ~ retrograde Mercury and retrograde Saturn ruled by retrograde Mercury in trickster Gemini ~ so continue to watch what is said as well as what is NOT said. Both are important and contain clues, information and things you need to pay attention to. Information is also contained in the spaces of things NOT said.

Mercury is retrograde. He is retrograde in Gemini until Wednesday when he shifts into Taurus. Gemini is the sign of the trickster, reversals, cons and con artists. Expect that kind of energy. You might want to con some one or they might want to con you. It is a week of changing your mind or direction. When Mercury gets into Taurus after Wednesday, he becomes firmer and more solid in his decisions ~ right or wrong, he’s now fixed and making calls. In the early part of the week, he’s wild. After Wednesday, he’s not nearly so hurly burly, whirly, swirly and flitting all over the place.

Next up Saturn is stationing at 14:55 Virgo. All week long Saturn is grinding into that degree, stopping, pushing, pushing, straining and poking at stuff in your Virgo house. The story from the last week of September 2008 is back in your life. The story from September 2001 is alive too. It is time to finish up those chapters and move forward. Saturn moved forward until the end of December when he stopped to go back and redo or reconsider the decisions he made in late September. Now Saturn is back at the same degree as late September. It is time to think about what you done for the past eight months or so and see what you want to change or not change. Incorporate what was going on for you in September of 2001. After Saturn turns direct on Saturn’s day, he is going to charge full steam ahead right out of Virgo and into Libra. He’ll be done, so done, with this Virgo business. So push to finish up outstanding projects and jobs this week so you are ready to move forward when Saturn does.

Saturn stations present us with LIFE ALTERING experiences, choices or decision points, life changing moments ~ people get sick, die, break up, leave, we quit our jobs, decide on our medical school, launch our businesses, say “never again” and start to move on with our lives. Expect that kind of energy in your Virgo house this week. As the final chapter closes, we find the book ends. The book will go up on the shelf next week. This week you might re-read your favorite parts or the scary parts again. But the book is essentially ending as you turn the final pages this week.

Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron all get closer and closer and closer, preparing for the first of their upcoming unions at the end of the month. They will start new 13, 14 and 84 year cycles this year around your deeper soul’s hopes, wounds and dreams, where you want to expand your life, heal and evolve to have your life grow in creativity, community, love given and received. THIS week, both the Sun and Mercury waltz, shimmy and dance with Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron while Venus fights with, stresses over or is blindsided by them. Here’s where the ping pong ball game comes in.

You’ve got the double negative reversals of Mercury and Saturn. You’ve got Saturn stopping, getting ready for the last part of his Virgo gig. Saturn‘s station means whatever happens this week is life altering and probably very, very permanent. Neptune, Jupiter and Chiron acting in unison are going to make the emotional and physical Ping Pong game fly all over the place and be virtually un-see-able as you careen like a ping pong ball from emotional paddle to logical paddle to reversal paddle to whack, whack, whack, change, change, change. Be lighter than air and just float with all the air changes, reversals and seeming invisibility of it all. There IS a game going on, even if you can’t see it so good.

In my readings for the past year or so, I’ve been saying to people, “Wait until May.” “You’ll know what to do in May.” “It will be clear in May.” “The bottom of the Financial Collapse will take place in May.” Here we are. It is May! So as we approach the clearing, cleaning and crystallizing energy of May, make sure to focus on what you became clear about during Venus’ retrograde in February, March and April. Hold on to that ~ it is your Ping Pong paddle. Use that Ping Pong paddle to guide you as you enter the final chapters taking place right now. It is time to move forward. As a player in the game of your life ~ know what your Venus desires are and focus on that goal. The rest is supportive energy. Time for the game to start.

As an observer of the Ping Pong game ~ don’t watch other people’s games and think about what is going to happen to you or let it choke you up or stop you from playing your best game or compare yourself unfavorably to them. That is THEIR game. Focus on YOUR game. If watching them makes you nervous, don’t watch them. If you can be detached and observant, BUT NOT SELF CRITICAL, stay and watch to see what you learn. Otherwise, politely, excuse yourself and leave the room. If it isn’t helpful TO YOUR PROCESS, best to let them handle it on their own. If you don’t know if it will be helpful or not helpful to watch ~ assume it will be NOT HELPFUL! It is Saturn stationing and Mercury retrograde after all. Monday, Mars has a Scorpio type, psychological adjusting aspect with Saturn as he moves inconjunct to him. Expect Saturn station news around sex, death or taxes or items which involve a psychological adjustment. Moon in Sagittarius makes the information a bit more blunt and plain spoken than you might like. Don’t shoot the messenger. Notice the message. Mercury fights with Mars by earth aspect declination so news can foster a sudden desire to take action. Mars has a supportive aspect to the North Node ~ yes go ahead, take the action, but keep your wits about you. The Ping Pong ball is in play.

Tuesday, Mercury is on one of the most clairvoyant, clear-seeing, intuitive, psychic and observant degrees in the zodiac. The Sabian Symbol is A Glass-Bottomed Boat Reveals Undersea Wonders. This Symbol speaks of being able to see "within" to forms that are not usually observed. Pay attention to Mercury’s messages to get to the heart of things that are normally clouded or obscured. Mercury has pile of aspects ~ watching from across the room or playing field. You can anticipate exactly where the Ping Pong ball is going to go without even looking. Pay attention to all the patterns before you, even if you aren’t 100% sure what they mean. They will become clearer.

Mercury argues with Uranus and Jupiter so expect unexpected news that still some how makes sense. This is a “wow” kind of day. Mercury also argues with volatile Mars ~ he sees it and gets it ~ he tries to WARN Mars not to go off half cocked. No way of knowing if Mars gets what Mercury says. Avoid unnecessary conflict today. Venus is joined with Neptune so desires merge with dreams. Focus on what you became clear about during Venus’ recent retrograde journey. Has any of that changed or modified? What are your desires, dreams and hopes? What do you want for the next eight years of your life in the Venus ruled parts of your chart, the Taurus and Libra houses? What have you learned about the principles of following your desires during the last eight year cycle? What will you take forward with you during the next eight year cycle? Focus on the story from last fall and 9-11 ~ what is the tie? How does the tie move you forward? What is your work around this issue? How does Saturn stopping and pushing in the hard places help? Let the Ping Pong balls fly!

Wednesday Mercury is still on one of the most clairvoyant, clear-seeing, intuitive, psychic and observant degrees in the entire zodiac. Your 'glass-bottomed boat' gives you the ability to cut past the uneven, moving or crappy surface appearances to get at what is real, what is actually there, even if from a distant or somewhat uninvolved perspective. So you are looking at the ocean’s bottom through the glass below you. What do you see? Venus helps you notice the abundance that is part of the story. Mercury has a another bundle of aspects ~ today he talks with Venus and Neptune from across the heavens. He enters Taurus going retrograde and notices how what he desires was captured by Venus and Neptune. Say what you want today to the heavens. Make it free of a tie to any person or thing and tie it to your higher good ~ “I ‘d like a love and a partnership in service of my higher good.” Give the Universe a bit of room to work. Saturn opposes Juno so partnerships can be rocky, rocky, rocky today. You might find out something about a partnership that makes you pause. Look at the bigger picture when making your decisions. And focus on what you are creating, not the problems before you. Open up the triangles or invite a third party into the story to help you sort out what is going on. Ping pong balls of emotional upset are flying today. Saturn is grinding in our emotions via the Capricorn moon ~ pay attention and try not to react. Watch for the Ping Pong ball and ask it to help you get clear on what you want ~ it seems to shift so fast but there is a truth in there if you look for it. It does fly straight, fast and true!

Thursday finds a bit of emotional relief ~ either tears or joy or perhaps a bit of both. Saturn is stopped. Listen to your inner wisdom today. Attempt to ground the energy through solid physical labor or efforts. Capricorn moon is pushing on you to understand the patterns and how they serve you. Don‘t be harsh on yourself. Just notice the pattern and decide if the pattern STILL serves you. If it doesn‘t take a teeny tiny step to change it. Or simply don‘t do the old behavior. Not doing old behaviors changes the pattern too! Don‘t react the way you usually do. Start to play Ping Pong again. Boy that ball flies so fast!

Friday Aquarius Moon illuminates in a detached and intellectual manner as puzzle pieces fall into place. Saturn is stopped and grinding in on the degree of his station. Time is stopped as Saturn rules time. Like a freeze frame in a movie ~ you see something today you never noticed before. Notice it. Absorb it. Venus has aspects with Neptune, Chiron, Uranus and Jupiter. While what you got “clear” on during Venus’ retrograde still applies, you are living in the real world too. How does that Venusian vision, those desires and dreams still holding onto your heart, still apply to what you want? How can those Venusian vision be adjusted a bit to better serve you and create what you want? The patterns in your life only need to shift a teeny tiny bit to get there. Honest. Focus and shift. Venus in Aries can find a way to do it ~ she’s inventive, creative and very clear. So let Venus make the adjustments she needs to make. Give her a free hand. Saturn and Vesta fight so changes in the home or office front are to be expected ~ where ever you call home or your nest stuff or people need to be adjusted, cleaned out or let go of. Ping pong of emotions and desires today.

On Saturn’s day, Saturn stops and turns direct. While Saturn will still be stopped for a few days, his forward movement officially begins today. The story that needs to culminate, culminates now, today. It is finished. Today it is finished. Today the Sun steps into aspect with Jupiter, Uranus, Chiron and Neptune so you GET IT on a soul level. Don’t be afraid to look. Don‘t be afraid to see what you see even through the tears in your eyes. Sun’s parallel union with the North Node of destiny holds out its hand to you and says, “Come on, come with me. We are moving on now. It is over.” Neptune makes the patterns less and more meaningful as they integrate some how into your being. You get it. You GET IT! And once you get it, you never can go back to not knowing again. Ping pong. Ping pong.

Sunday that is NOT to say that it is entirely FINISHED. It IS OVER but it is NOT FINISHED if you know what I mean. Mercury is going to attempt to negotiate with you. He thinks if he keeps the communication ball moving, that some how, some way, some thing will change. Keep your focus. Kind of like learning how a magic trick works, things shift in the way you see the trick go down now. Having a new take, losing your innocence, getting a new understanding of the role of illusion and happily ever always follows once we see things in a new light. Mercury repeats his aspects from Tuesday to Jupiter, Uranus, and Venus, but this time, Mercury is on YOUR SIDE of the argument. Back to that fast flying Ping Pong ball. I know once more over the net. To get the story, you have to understand the purpose of duality. You need duality to get any story ~ there had to be a villain who caused problems so you would take the action you took. No, not really, but when you are unconscious, there has to be a villain. That is how you motivate yourself. Now that you are MORE conscious, you don’t need a villain to prevent you from getting what you want. You can motivate yourself all by yourself, no villain needed or in sight. Sun has an aspect of brilliance to Pluto ~ there needs to be resistance to push against to grow. Reframe it and think of the duality as resistance instead of what you are thinking of it as. How has duality/ resistance helped you? How has it hindered you? Are you clear? Again, back to the duality of the Ping Pong ball. You needed someone to hit the ball over the net to you. Now that this game is finished, you can go and do something else. Or you can play the next game of Ping Pong with a new person. Or another game with the old person. Once you are CLEAR, you are clear.

Of course, that resignation reminds us to question where WAS NORAD on 9-11? Why didn’t NORAD chase the FOUR big old airplanes making U-turns in our skies for hours? Why didn’t any one resign over THAT catastrophe? No resignations happened even as the President was warned in the Presidential Daily Briefing on August 6, 2001 that Osama Bin Laden was preparing to attack us with planes.

So expect to hear 9-11 related news this week. Probably a big reveal!

Maybe we will finally catch Osama Bin Laden with our current bombing of Pakistan? All those millions, billions and trillions we spent on a war in Iraq where Osama wasn’t living so we never found him. We let Osama go in Tora Bora, Afghanistan, when we had him in our net. Maybe Obama will catch Osama?

The degree of the station this week is the degree of the market collapse and Lehman’s bankruptcy last fall. Expect major news around the stock market and the financial markets. If stuff is going to further collapse, it goes south this month ~ this week or next.

Saturn’s station offers people who are hanging on to the last bits of life an opportunity to let go and cross over to the other side. Expect sad news about iconic and leadership people in our culture this week and next.

Brooke Astor‘s son’s trial is front page news in New York city. Her son stands accused of letting her sit in rags on a urine filled couch, stealing her money, transferring titles to her properties, selling valuable paintings that were promised to the Metropolitan Museum and forging a new codicil to her will so he inherited all of her money. The will change allowed him to give money to his third wife when he died instead of it going to the Museum and charities Mrs. Astor promised it to. The trial is all rather tacky, tawdry and sad. It reminds us that even the richest among us can be vulnerable and taken advantage of by our loved ones. Her FRIENDS stepped in to take over her physical guardianship when her grandson sought their help to stop his father from abusing his grandmother. The District Attorney got involved when the matter was not settled ‘quietly’. It became apparent during the legal fight over guardianship that forgery, felony and other offenses might have taken place. I loved Mrs. Astor’s poems: “When I go from here, I want to leave behind me the world richer for the experience of me. I want to store up riches in the wind and to leave blessings traveling upward to the stars. I want to leave my roots in the grass. I want the tears that I have shed for the sake of high love to come again as dew.”

Big Fires in California, rain, rain, rain in the East, and many mile long banks of thunderstorms rolling east through the South from Oklahoma to Georgia with 130 mile an hour winds can all be attributed to Jupiter Neptune joining up ~ expanding the wind, expanding the rain, expanding the electric nature of change. More to come. It is going to be a wicked weather summer.

Additionally, the Sun is entering a busier period of increased sunspots. Astronomers and weather people have notice sun spots affect us here on earth in 11 year cycles. That is Jupiter at work folks! When the sun sneezes it's Earth that gets sick.

It has been speculated that there may be a resonant gravitational link between a photospheric tidal force from the planets, the dominant component by summing gravitational tidal force (75% being Jupiter's) with an 11-year cycle.

Mutations in the influenza virus, and subsequent flu pandemics, correlate to sunspot peaks. During no less than 17 of the last solar cycles, sunspot peaks precede increased flu activity, including the 1918-19 “Spanish Flu” pandemic which followed a sunspot peak in 1917. During at least five of these periods, the Influenza-A virus underwent antigenic shifts that allowed the virus to bypass built-up immunity in the population. Research conducted by Biometeorological Research Center in the Netherlands supports the proposition that solar activity causes lowered human immunity: Thirty years of research using 740,000 male subjects shows that blood sedimentation rates —and resulting albumin and gamma globulin rates—changes with the sunspot cycle. 

Anne: Essentially, it is a lot of switching back and forth, with people changing their minds, decisions and directions as reflected by the planets switching. Because of the retrogrades, much of what you “think” you know, you don’t really know or you know “part” of and other things keep falling into place. Information and decision making keeps changing, swirling and moving around you. Think in terms of weeks.

Anne: The potential flu pandemic will resurface a few more times as Neptune, Jupiter and Chiron meet up in the heavens three times this year. All are in Aquarius ~ the collective sign of groups as well as a fixed air (the virus is spread through the air) sign. It isn’t going any place and we‘ll see it back in the news at the end of May, July, and December. The symbolism is Neptune (influenza, infections, hospitals, illness) in fixed air (Lungs, breathing, groups) joins with Jupiter (lots of, collective) with Chiron (wounding) the collective. Plus the sun spots offer an opportunity for it to evolve and be more dangerous.

Mercury retrograde in Gemini made the powers that be change how “dangerous” it would be us. Things changed during a retrograde often reverse when Mercury goes direct. Expect an update or modification at the end of the month when Jupiter and Neptune meet and Mercury squares them for part two, retrograde.

Any new pathogen is dangerous to communities or populations that haven’t experienced it before. Europeans’ explorations of the ‘new world’ exposed native American Indian populations to Small Pox which devastated their cultures, people and tribes to allow easy conquest. Chinese traders in Hawaii introduced Leprosy to the islands, taking down the ancient kingdom and creating the need for the leper colony Molokai. The AIDs epidemic still kills thousands every year.

This last one really took the cake when you equated water boarding terrorists, people who can and will kill us if given half an opportunity, to a child stealing candy from a store! These terrorists strap bombs on mentally challenged people and blow them up in car bombs! Do you really think if we ask nicely they will stop! PLEASE. I know your a bleeding heart liberal but I still enjoy your column but not the political commentary. If it continues I will have to go somewhere else.

Re: my political commentary upsetting you: It is always good for the soul and mind to hear how and what the other side thinks and says. I listen to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, watch Fox News and read the Murdoch Post to find out how and what the “other side” (selfish, whiny, white, drug addict, scared male, fake-Christian conservative idiots) are thinking and saying. Try it. It is fun. Besides yelling at my column will prevent swine flu! You’ll exercise your lungs!

Re: taking the cake: My mother marched me back into the store when I stole to make me pay for my crime. She made me appreciate stealing was wrong.

I was suggesting that rather than spending a pile of money on prosecuting the people who admitted they tortured or authorized it or even bothering to spend money to investigate and then decide not prosecute, just do the karmic equivalent of what my mother did.

We have the memos that say they did it. It is completely AGAINST international law and our country’s laws to torture people. We have photos. We have video tapes. They confessed.

March the torturer as well as the people who wrote memos saying torture was okay as a policy over to Gitmo and water board them each 266 times to atone for the torture of others.

The karmic scales are balanced. The matter is closed. Eye for an eye ~ or perhaps better said a water board for a water board?

I bet they won't torture any one any more if they were water boarded 266 times! I bet no one who follows in any subsequent administration ever tortures either as they know they will be tortured in return. I certainly never stole candy again! It works! A solution that works!

I’ll admit “Fail Safe” is one of my all time favorite books, <wink> even though I am a bleeding heart liberal and white, feminist, anti-war, anti-torture, pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pagan loving, astrology practicing, Roman Catholic gal. You gotta balance the karmic scale or it comes back to bite you in the butt. Sometimes a karmic balancing process isn’t pleasant or pretty.

The Scorpio Full Moon taking place every Spring is the Full Moon which marks the first transformation of Spring Consciousness from the abundant, joyful bloom of life into an awareness of life or death as part of the process. In April and May, flowers bloom. Under the Scorpio Full Moon, the blossoms fall off the cherry tree, daffodil flowers die as the green base digs in, tulips lose their lips and the first baby birds get big enough or wiggly enough to fall out of their nest, losing their mother and often their lives. Into each beginning ~ spring ~ transformation and endings must come. We are reminded of the eternal dance of life as the Scorpio Moon brings us loss even as we watch the growing season start to take off in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Full Moon for May 2009 is also a culminating moon from the New Moon in November 2007 and the opening quarter Moon in August 2008. Think back to the project(s) you began in your Scorpio house when the Sun and Moon joined and which evolved or changed in August last year. The projects culminate now. Full Moons offer us further enlightenment and an opportunity to change directions as we compare the ego with the emotion.

Our Scorpio Full Moon in 2009 is a bit more reflective and profound than other Scorpio Full Moons. The day before the Moon, Mercury stationed to go retrograde, taking us back to our past, our memories, our earlier connections, our thoughts, our paper pasts to see how they are involved in creating the life we have. Retrogrades bring back to us things we’ve forgotten, lost or misplaced in our memories and lives. Notice the returning or recurring ghosts that bring your consciousness to your past choices and actions.

Venus just went direct, after months of a retrograde journey in Aries. She recently joined with Mars in late Pisces and early Aries, starting a new cycle of dreams, desires, values and hopes. As her new 8 year cycle begins, the Full Moon’s Sun in Taurus is full of the promise and lustiness of that union. Venus is full of desire, wants and lusts as she begins to move forward as a morning star. Listen well to her voice under the Full Moon.

Mars, her companion, co-rules the Scorpio Moon with Pluto. Mars was born to an angry woman with out a father. She bore him in retaliation for the scorn and humiliation she felt toward her husband playing around. Mars in Aries seeks to rule, dominate and conquer. The Scorpio Moon, bright and high, seeks power and control too. Watch for areas where you feel scorned or dismissed as possible “hot spots” under the Full Moon. Note them as places you need to understand the driving energy source.

Both the Sun and Moon square the stellium of planets in Aquarius, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune. It is a wide square but the lights move INTO their creative yet foggy energy over the next hours, Moon, and days, Sun. Jupiter and Neptune meet up three times over the balance of the year. Aside from bringing us bizarre, rainy and crazy weather and swine flu, they join to start a new 13 year journey to expand our hopes and dreams. Jupiter joins with Chiron to begin a new 14 year cycle to heal our personal wound and help us heal the planet with the wisdom gleaned. Chiron and Neptune join to dissolve and dissipate, creatively feel and process the soul’s and collective’s wound in a new 84 year cycle. All three of those cycles are conscious and awake under this 2009 years’ lunations. As their FIRST union takes place under the Tarus /Scorpio Full Moon cycle taking place this month, we commence the other major cycles under the light of the moon.

Watch your dreams and imaginings. Draw correlations between what you notice in the various chapters or sections of your life. Link them up so you can see the bigger picture emerging of your new path while Pluto is in Capricorn.

Stationing Mercury in Gemini is inconjunct or quincunx Pluto in Capricorn in a Virgo point type of inconjunct, perfecting once Mercury goes direct. This is a physical change kind of inconjunct ~ habits, routines, health, rituals, and daily work. Adjust. Adjust. Adjust.

Finally, Mars in Aries is inconjunct or quincunx Saturn in Virgo in a Scorpio point type of inconjunct, perfecting a day or so after the Full Moon. Adjustments are needed. Adjustments of a psychological, often unconscious but deeper and more profound nature are required of you under the Full Moon. Adjust. Adjust. Adjust.

This is an exceptionally powerful moon to use in ritual to either RELEASE or CALL IN something you would like in your life. Mercury is stationary in the sky, 13, 14 and 84 year cycles are beginning, two life altering inconjuncts are happening. Permanent physical or psychological changes can take place under the lunation.

To work with the Full Moon energy and allow it to help you the best it can rather than potentially zapping you, I recommend rituals that are directed at “for my highest good” rather than directed at any particular person, object or desire. You might “want” someone or something REALLY badly and be tempted to direct the energy in that manner. No, no, no! Don’t ask for them or any thing in particular. Ask for guidance and help in going toward your higher purpose and the best results possible under the moon. Ask for the support to make the changes you need. Ask for wisdom and understanding. Or perhaps freedom from fear. Things like that. Clearing and clarifying those types of things are the best use of the lunation’s energy.

The reason I suggest you DON’T direct the energy at a particular person or thing is the retrograde station of Mercury in his trickster form and sign of Gemini. It is a classic be careful what you ask for kind of energy. So ask carefully. Don’t fall captive to personal hubris and challenge the wisdom of your path with personal desires running rampant and wild under the Full Moon. Sure, he may make your toes curl and rock your world. But if he keeps druggin’ and drinking, he might not be the best man for you. Ask instead for help reaching the higher and best path for both of you, together or separate, as you continue on your life‘s journey.

It is a great moon for wisdom boards or wish boards too, again going after the concept and the higher wisdom of your soul’s path, not a particular person, place or thing.

Lots of people will have emotional break downs, break ups or break throughs under the full Moon’s energy. In real time, that means the week approaching and leaving the light‘s fullness. So if things come to light that are disturbing under the full moon‘s dark light, accept them as things you were meant to know and learn about. It might be disturbing information but it also will change how you look at the situation in your life going forward. Similar to finding a baby bird struggling on the ground under a tree and seeing the home nest high above, know that some losses are necessary to our life to help us move to the next phase. Hard, yes, difficult, always, loss is loss. But loss is also part of life. Losses help us appreciate the blessings.

Oracle: This Symbol often infers some level of spiritual channeling, as thoughts and words can sometimes appear to course through a person, especially if the “messages” seem to come from somewhere else. It can show someone who is receptive to the thoughts and ideas that are around, or in the environment, and can process the information to the point where it becomes their own. A whole field of activity is coming to light as this fresh, new arena of opportunity erupts.

Oracle: A ‘New Continent’ is ‘Rising Out of the Ocean’; it might feel as though it is coming out of nowhere, or from somewhere you didn’t expect, however things have probably been building up for some time. Weekly Weather May 4, 2009

Reverse. Backward. Reverse. Forward. Fog. Reverse. Forward.

For the next month. > ---< ---> ---< ---? > ---< -----> ?

It is going to be completely confusing! You are going to think you are losing your mind. You aren’t losing your mind. However, the planets are completely and totally playing with your head.

Saturn, going retrograde, is coming to a stop. He’s going to reverse his direction in two weeks, and go direct. Saturn’s station and reversal is captured within and between Mercury’s retrograde journey in May AND Jupiter meeting up with Neptune, part 1 AND Mercury dancing around in Jupiter and Neptune‘s energy.

Mercury, going forward, is coming to a stop. He’s going to reverse his direction THIS week, to go backward for three weeks. Saturn reverses direction NEXT week, goes direct and starts to head out of Virgo, starting the next 28 years. Mercury meets up with Neptune and Jupiter the THIRD week and either loses his mind or enters the rapture or a bit of both. Neptune and Jupiter start a new twelve year cycle, part 1. Mercury reverses his backwards direction and goes forward the FOURTH week.

Remember MERCURY is in CHARGE OF SATURN (because Saturn is in Virgo). Mercury’s making a funky form of a double negative with Saturn and then changing his mind yet again. You remember double negatives from Grammar!

So the planets, the very important planets that reflect above what we experience down here on earth are going to be having or exhibiting double negatives and perhaps even multiple negatives which create NEGATIVE CONCORDS.

Negative concords. I like the sound of that. I know whenever I hear a double negative expressed by someone, I have to sit for a second and parse out what it means. Take out the negatives and turn them into a positive. Two negatives multiplied in math turn into a positive ~ they essentially cancel each other out.

In English, two negatives do the some what cancel each other out but it definitely ISN’T the same as stating it positively ~ in the case of Prince William “I think about my mother every day.” instead of “There isn't a day when I don't think about her.”

So we are entering a month long period of negative concords. As our planets go, that means Mercury in charge of Saturn is going to be completely driving Saturn crazy with the parsing and double negatives. Mercury’s going retrograde in Gemini which is always problematic as it amplifies his trickster quality. Tricks abound! Be careful of the Mercury tricks! Watch for the double negatives or negative concords.

On top of the mess of negative concords, Jupiter and Neptune are joining AND mixing it up with Mercury. We saw Mercury/ Jupiter/ Neptune this past week with the wild craziness about Swine flu ~ now renamed H1N1 (so Mercury eh?) and much more politically correctly than Swine or even the Mexican flu.

In terms of how that shows up in YOUR world, the story from last fall will drive into your driveway, hop out of its car and give you a hug. It will tell you all about what has gone on in its life since last fall. It will seem completely and totally ready to change. And it MIGHT be ready to completely and totally change. We just don’t know for SURE, for SURE yet. We are in the midst of negative concords!

In the meantime, YOU HAVE CHANGED since last fall! You’ve been reading this column. You’ve been doing your work. You’ve been evolving. You’ve been getting clear on your stuff and your projections. You worked VERY hard during Venus retrograde to get clear on the upcoming 8 year cycle and what passion, delights and desires you wanted to bring into your life. You know more about what you want and don’t want. So MAYBE this IS it. And MAYBE this IS NOT it. We don’t know for sure. We DO KNOW we are in negative concord land.

So, we proceed with caution. With both our ears open. With both our eyes open. With our nose smelling keenly, sniff, sniff, sniff. We know what we know. We listen and don’t speak. Or, in negative concord version, I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing, I will not tell anything to anybody.

We also have a fabulous FULL MOON this week in the deliciously devilish and secret revealing Scorpio the day after Mercury goes retrograde in a crabby aspect to Pluto. So you MIGHT feel blind sided by something you didn‘t see coming. Or the story from November of 2007 will appear at your side to add a bit of insight to the decisions you face now.

It is, after all, only the rest of your life we are talking about! <wink> You are making decisions in this swirling mess of negative concords that affect the rest of your life! You are, after all, being asked to pull the trigger on, open the kimono for (I always hated that phrase!), make the leap of faith, commence with, move along, get naked, be up close and personal. Vulnerable. Real. Open.

Listen to your inner heart‘s truth. Trust your heart’s guidance. Don’t act, avoid or react out of fear (to the best of your ability). Swallow hard. Belly up to the bar. Ask for what you want. Cry if you must. But at least make sure to ASK for what you want. You may not get it but ASK any way. Make sure to say what you need to say. They may not hear you but say it any way. Say what you need to say.

My last suggestion is to stand by yourself! When you are feeling overwhelmed, afraid or anxious, say to yourself “Regardless of what happens, I will stand by myself! I promise! I will support myself in doing this.” Then put your one hand in your other hand, squeeze. Or wrap your arms around yourself. Say it again. Rather than criticizing, condemning or picking on yourself, support yourself in your truth. Stand by yourself. Stand next to yourself. Stand next to and by yourself no matter what. Especially stand by and stand next to that scared part of you that has to belly up to the bar and ask for what it wants.

All the usual Mercury retrograde advice applies ~ double check, redo, reconnect, revise, revisit, and back up your computer, cell phone and communication devices. Mercury stations on Thursday so the week’s awash in Mercury retrograde energy that is arguing with Pluto’s control freak nature. Double check the important things in your world! Negative concords abound!

Monday Moon in Virgo works hard to clear things up and get them organized. Mars is pressing Jupiter to take actions that Jupiter doesn’t think he needs to take. Well he does and he should. Whether he will or not is another story. In your life, back to what you THINK you want. If the person before you is apparently unable or unwilling to do what you want, don’t “end” it ~ simply mosey along on down the road. No drama. You don’t need to shout or yell. Just move along. They know how to find you if they want to. Venus has a lovely aspect to the Node suggesting you might get a better offer any way. The point is to see your pattern, their pattern. Decide if it is something you can live with (or not), work with (or not) or love/ laugh with (or not). The person and situation before you is a reflection of your chart and where you are right now. Change your pattern of behavior, and soon enough, the situation will change. Closing aspect offers a push off energy ~ imagine yourself pushing off the wall as you swim out into the pool ~ that push off can get you halfway across the pool before you take a single stroke.

Tuesday Libra moon today and tomorrow has lovely closing aspects so use them to send things out into the world especially if they are creative projects or ideas. The shake you up dream from last night needs to be recorded. The meaning will be clearer at the end of the month. Watch your words today as they can be mis-interpreted. Proceed with caution. With both your ears open. With both your eyes open. With your nose smelling keenly, sniff, sniff, sniff. You know what you know. Listen and don’t speak. Or, in negative concord version, I hear nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing, I will not tell anything to anybody. Double check on meaning and intent. DO NOT ASSUME YOU KNOW! Saturn is getting a large lesson today in understanding and the how of why. Mercury is double negative concording as he slows to a stop in the sky and stirs both his own as well as Saturn’s energy. It will be a fear day where fear will seem to have a solution. Watch and don’t act out of fear.

Wednesday another Libra moon day. Mercury is stopped in the sky, getting ready to shift directions. Mars WANTS YOU to react to the wound he’s opening up today. Look at the situation and SEE IF you DO want to react. Sometimes it is very cathartic to scream and shout at folks. Nothing wrong with that! The energy today is a dish slamming day. We could always tell when my fire mother was mad ~ clanging and banging of pots. Dinner was cooked but with quite a bit of noise and drama. Remember, even though Venus is direct, she is STILL in Aries and thus in charge of the Moon’s current frisky and martial nature. Great day to tackle a physical project and get it DONE!

Thursday Mercury goes retrograde for the next 24 days. While he’s stopped in early Gemini, he’s also in an adjusting energy with Pluto. Can you adjust some of your beliefs today? Can you shift them to see the duality? Can you see how picking the green one leaves the pink one? Venus wants you to pick the pink one. Mars thinks its girly. Negative concord day. How can two seeming different things find common ground? By sitting down and saying what they deeply want. Conversations and communications held today will go deep and far into the being of the other person. FOR GOOD OR BAD, they will go deep and far. Watch what they hear. Notice what they see. Pay attention to what they repeat back to you. Your job today is to VERIFY. Say, “If I heard you correctly, you said “xyz”. I take that to mean “abc” ~ and give YOUR interpretation of it. Use that technique ALL MONTH LONG. Repeat back exactly what you heard. Then say what you INTERPRETED it to mean. At least get it out there!

Friday productive if emotional, Scorpio moon has a great deal of energy. Instead of misdirecting it in anger or frustration, use the extra energy to zip along, accomplish things on YOUR agenda. Mars asks us to look at who and how we partner with things either productively or not. Mars rules the Moon’s emotional energy so his conversation with Juno and her opposition to Saturn make this a fabulous day to release old partners that don’t work for you in the same way any more ~ the sugar, the cigarettes, the friend, the spouse, the sibling, the relative, the person who is always doing that thing that completely drives you crazy yet you go back time after time after time. Do you see what you are getting out of this partnership? Can you get the same thing or perhaps SOMETHING BETTER FOR YOU from another place, person or thing? Wanna go there and at least try?

Sunday is Mother’s day here in the USA. Call your mom and tell her you love her. Call all the women or men who’ve nurtured you and tell them you love them. WE have many mothers in our life times ~ the folks who nurture our souls! Venus and Sun are happy and busy today moving toward what they want. There is an adjusting energy asking you to think about how you can mother yourself, nurture yourself, stand by yourself and stand next to yourself. You can (and will) nurture yourself right into a major transformation to create the next chapter of your life. Starting now. Starting as Saturn slow to a stop. The structure of your life RIGHT NOW was created by the choices you made in the past. Change your choices and it changes your structure in the future. Every day, your body creates new cells to replace the old dying cells. Every day you have an opportunity to change. Today, bask in the healthy and wholesome vision of what you want your next chapter of life to be like. Imagine it. Envision it. What is on YOUR agenda. Stand by yourself today. Proceed with caution. With both your ears open. With both your eyes open. With your nose smelling keenly, sniff, sniff, sniff. You know what you know. Notice the patterns, good or bad, that are there. Mundane: We ain’t done with the Swine/ H1N1/ Mexican flu yet! More excitement to come. Negative concords all over the place! Jupiter/Neptune is evolution. They meet up with Mercury again, on his retrograde journey on May 20 and with each other on May 27. The flu will be back at the end of the month, as well as in July and December ~ perhaps in a new stage.

It WAS exciting to see we COULD, CAN and DID work together as a world! Now, if we could JUST take that coordinating energy and use it to tackle global warming, hunger and the other problems we face around the globe. What a wonderful world this would be! Maybe we should put WHO in charge of running things?

Torture memos and on-going discussions around it. Let’s gather all the officials who authorized torture in the Bush administration and water board them 226 times in a single month. I think that would be an appropriate and fitting way to close the matter. Do the water boarding in the public square. Film it. Put it on the internet. Those who want to watch can watch. We have the boards. Water is available. We have people trained to do it. It saves on the investigation costs (which is money we’ll need to use to bail out the banks.) No need for a trial. It answers to that universal “Do unto others” business. It shows the world community we get that folks in charge did a bad thing. We held those who did it accountable by making them appreciate what they did as well as what it felt like. When I stole some candy once (age 7 or so), my mother marched me back into the store, made me apologize to the owner, pay for and then I did not get to eat the candy in addition to my public humiliation . I never stole candy again! I think the same might happen if the folks who authorized water boarding had a chance to experience it.
